Joy Bruce sent this article after their recent visit to Discovery Centre and also following our National Youth Science Forum information session this week. It confirms a lot about the value of Rotary and our efforts to help our STEM students and future scientists.

What a fantastic asset to our City of Bendigo. The Discovery Centre was full of primary school students, mums and dads with their young children discovering about science and being curious. To see the last of the Lego Display was a privilege. ‘Brick Man’ is a local Bendigo boy, and the displays were certainly impressive! A large rocket at the front contained nearly 500,000 pieces of Lego. Alissa Van Soest was a NYSF participant 20 years ago, discovered Science Communication, and is now the CEO of the Discovery Centre.
At Discovery, the mission is to ignite curiosity, inspire learning, and make science accessible to everyone. They believe that discovery starts with hands-on exploration, so they create experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. Their Impact: Every spark of curiosity at Discovery has the power to shape a brighter future. By making science engaging and accessible, we’re helping young minds build confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills that last a lifetime. https://www.discovery.asn.au/
