Further to discussions re the above visit next Wednesday 08.10.2025, please find attached the flyer and map re the event for members information.
General information about Oscar 1 is as follows: they are the only CFA Mine Rescue team in Victoria and in fact the only Volunteer Mine Rescue Team in Australia. They regularly compete in National Mine rescue Competitions against many of the rescue teams from throughout Australia, who are all employed Mine members. I might say, Oscar 1 has been very successful over many years. The majority of their work is within mines around central Victoria to rescue humans from Mine accidents but have been known to get animals from mine shafts.
Because of the type of work undertaken, the team have a very diverse knowledge and expertise, which they need to ensure their safety and the safety of those they are assisting.
I am expecting a very informative evening with the Oscar 1 Mine Rescue Team.
