Bulletin - Rotary Club of Eaglehawk (Feb. 04, 2026)

4th February 2026

Co-presidents report

Hi all

How the days are flying past, we are into February already. It was great to see a good crowd at the clubrooms this week with the Rotary Club of Bendigo South joining us, and their president, Lindsay Jolley as guest speaker. Lindsay spoke of his recent trip to Ethiopia to visit a toilet block that the RC of Bendigo South had contributed significant funds. Ethiopia is amongst the poorest countries in the world and sanitation is sadly lacking in rural areas, particularly for girls and women.

Lindsay gave a presentation which showed the new toilet block and how it was making a big difference to the health of the local people. He commented on how far the money went in impoverished areas.

Last Sunday we cooked a BBQ for the CFA competitions, it was perfect weather around 26 degrees and we had very little food left over, thanks to all who assisted.

This Saturday we are cooking for the combined fire brigades of Eaglehawk and Harcourt at the Harcourt Fire Station. We have about 10 people helping out and will “car pool” from our clubrooms at 4pm on Saturday.

Many thanks to Brian, Gary and Lindsay for their working bee at the clubrooms - our user groups have been absolutely thrilled to return to their programs for 2026 with the outcome of your working bee at the Mechanics. Many thanks guys, you earnt that drink.
