Rochester Rotary Community Breakfast is held every month and has played a pivotal role in supporting many local folk as they recover from the flood damage. It was so interesting for me to hear the reports from about 15 people representing many different organisations from the CWA, local council, Op Shop, Palliative Care service and CEO of the hospital to name a few. Heather Watson and Eric Bish spared some time to have dinner with me on Wednesday evening and then helped me to give a short talk about my book The Mystery Medal. I have had many years of connections with Rochester and the area around Echuca/Tongala/Kyabram, so I felt very much at home. We are all in great admiration of everything the Rochester Club achieve with small numbers but terrific energy. Youth Update. Our Bendigo youth cluster meeting was held on July 15. Minutes will be available soon. We will need to come up with another name soon as we welcome Terry Murphy from RC of Castlemaine and also link in with Rochester and Echuca. Lynne Cooper. (Editor's note - the name 'Rotary Community Group North Central Victoria' would be ideal as that was the name decided by all clubs in our Rotary Community Group as it best identifies the demographic location of the clubs that we represent. Adding 'Youth Committee' would identify the sub-committee). |
