Lindsay Walkington - President 2026-2027

President's Quick Update

This week, congratulations go to Geoff Adcock on his commitment to the ideals of Rotary. At our last meeting, Geoff was presented with a Paul Harris Fellow pin in recognition of his generous contributions to the Rotary Foundation.

Congratulations and best wishes also to Gary and Lola Frank on their retirement. A special thank you to Gary for taking part in an interview about his career. He spoke openly and engagingly about his journey as an electrician, electrical contractor and business owner, giving us all a fascinating insight into his working life.

A few reminders and updates:
  • Don't forget to look out for the final draft of the Rotary Bookshop Saturday Roster, where we will be assisting either Jon Gurr or Gary Frank — a big thank you to everyone who has volunteered.
  • Our EFNC gate duty on 18 July has been cancelled due to multiple commitments. Our next gate duty will be on 1 August, so please keep that date in mind.
  • Please keep an eye out for the Australian Sheep & Wool Show car parking roster. If you haven't already done so, please let John Jones know whether you are available to help.
  • Invitations have been sent for the Rotary Club of Eaglehawk's 60th Anniversary celebration. Please RSVP by 1 August, or earlier if possible.
I look forward to seeing everyone at our next meeting.

Luncheon - 8th August 2026 - Save the Date
60th Birthday Celebrations

A luncheon will be held on Saturday, 8th August

to celebrate our club's milestone birthday.

More information will follow, but for now - pop it into your diary so you don't miss out!

With the preliminary arrangements now in place for the celebration lunch on the 8th August, invitations are now winging their way to you.
District Foundation Grants
The following information has been received relative to applying for a district Foundation Grant.  This is a very short time frame - so the best way to addresss this for now is for members to contact President Lindsay if you have a project in the works that could benefit from applying for a grant.  If your project aligns with grant requirements and the club's focus for the year, you will need to provide a brief outline of what the project is to enable us to complete the required Grant Intention Form.

On behalf of the District 9800 Foundation Grants Committee, I invite your Club to consider a Foundation Grant to assist in a project over the next twelve months.

Grants are up to $5,000 matching club contributions on a 1:1 basis for both local and international projects.

What is needed is for your club, if interested in a grant, to submit a Grant Intention form outlining what you would like to do.  Submissions will be considered by the Grants Committee and submitted to Foundation for funding. A formal Grant application will then be required.

These submissions are required by July 17th.
