Welcome to our club bulletin, produced and distributed to keep our club members and our local community up to date with club activities.  Through this means we can share details of our efforts enabling us to highlight the value of the connections we have within the various local organisations.   For more information about our club simply go to www.eaglehawkrotary.org.au for additional stories and links.

A Word From Our President

After having had a bit of a break and possibly some much needed family time I hope everyone is feeling recharged and ready to go again.  So, welcome to the New Year, and let's start by acknowledging and thanking those members who have kept the ball rolling over the last few weeks -
  • The team of members who undertook the pack up of the Nativity Scene
  • The book shop team who have been back on deck for a couple of weeks now
  • The raffle ticket folders who got the job all done in under an hour (many hands make light work)
  • The members (partnering with RC Bendigo South) who successfully completed another year of the trailer raffle ticket sales, the drawing of the prize winners and the acknowledgement of our community partner groups
  • The Bunnings BBQ helpers who worked through one of the hottest days of the summer and raised $948
  • The members who delivered to the Primary Schools the Prep Packs for the 2024 Prep Students
  • The members who represented the club at various end of year events
  • Planning and much of the preliminary work for the Australia Day Community Breakfast
  • The Great Aussie Camping Swap Meet web page, Facebook page, Instagram, Trybooking sites all went live as of the 1st January.
  • Our club's website now incorporates a couple of extra design elements that will be easier for both club members and the general public to always have ready access to the current news and events of our club.
  • The transition of the club bulletin from a manually produced periodic publication to be fully integrated with our club website through the Club Runner Software.
We may not have had a formal meeting since early December but well done to those members who have been chipping away at our various Rotary commitments and administrative tasks that are ongoing.

Looking ahead to the next few weeks, our BBQ's in the community feature strongly along with visits to the Primary Schools and planning for the Great Aussie Camping Swap Meet.

Welcome to Rotary 2025 - it sure is great to be back!

President Alison

A Great Start to the Rotary Year

A couple of weeks break from Rotary gave members the opportunity for a well earned rest and some family time, then our club gathered for a social dinner with partners and friends. A wonderful evening at the Gold Mines Hotel with excellent food and service. A great start to 2025 for Eaglehawk Rotary.

Free Community Breakfast in Canterbury Park.
This annual event gets the year off to a cracking start, free BBQ breakfast from 8.30am followed by the announcement of the Citizen of the Year Awards.  A performance by the local Karen Community is an amazing spectacle of colour and movement - not to be missed.

Phoenix FM - 106.7

Have always been a great supporter of our club, especially with the covering of our annual Australia Event in the form of an outside live broadcast.  2025 will again see them on deck with live interviews and great coverage of our free community breakfast.  Phoenix FM are celebrating the official opening (by non other than the Premier of Victoria, the Hon Jacinta Allen) of their digital studio on Wednesday 29th January.  Use the link below for additional information.
Catering for the CFA Championships
We head down to the RF Turner Fire Track at Lake Weeroona on Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd February for our annual commitment to catering for the local CFA Championships.  Always a great event and a pleasure for our club to be involved.

Prep Packs 2025
As the 2025 school year gets underway our members will be visiting the local primary schools to hand out the 'Prep Packs'.  This long running club project has always been warmly received within our partnering schools.  Staff work with us in the distribution of the packs which are designed to enable the new 'preppies' each year to have a small assortment of educational resources to take home.  A great start to the educational journey for our community's future leaders!

The newest member to join our team.  Karen Armstrong has been keen to connect with the community through her work with the Salvation Army and joining Rotary is just one of many community connections Karen has undertaken.  We are thrilled to have you on the team Karen and look forward to working with you.
