The colder weather has crept in with the nights considerably cooler now.  Now we just need some more rain here in Central Victoria.

With the reduced numbers attending this week's Club Meeting Night it wasn't possible for our sub-committees to have effective meetings but Secretary John will be following up with emails to ensure rosters for events over the next week or so are fully covered.

We welcomed both Ben Hill and Malcolm Armstrong to the night and it was indeed a welcome sight to see a new membership application form submitted.  We are indeed looking forward to working with Ben as he becomes even more familiar with the work our club is doing within the local community and further afield.  A brief chat with Secretary John and I and we are off and running with some planning for the forthcoming Garden Expo for later in the year.  Ben's expertise in IT will be a huge bonus for our club but more importantly Ben has an abundance of knowledge of Rotary and his experience throughout his years within Rotaract will bring to us a whole new level of Rotary!

I took the opportunity to speak with members about our club web site and the various resources that are simply at the press of a button for you along with some helpful tips about navigating the bulletin and club diary.

The Multi District Impact Summit of last weekend.  The summit (otherwise known as the annual conference), was held in Adelaide at the Morphettville Racecourse over the 3 days.  A welcome event, Saturday Plenary sessions, Summit Dinner, Foundation Breakfast and another Plenary session on Sunday, all full of inspiration and thought-provoking guest speakers.  I encourage everyone to have a read of the recently distributed Networker publication sent to all Rotarians from D9800, in which are a lot of photos and information on each of the speakers.  Again, I remind all members that attending an annual conference is one of the best ways of learning about Rotary beyond our club, a great way to explore what may be possible and it gives all attendees a lot of food for thought.

D9800 Changeover
A member has suggested that we may be able to organise a table from our club to attend.  Anyone interested should book with the Trybooking details below and car-pooling could then be arranged between the members who are attending.

National Youth Science Forum
Or as it is commonly referred to as NYSF - a brilliant program that is designed to introduce/expose year 11 students to the many difference aspects of science for their consideration.  Here is a link to a video put together by the Bendigo Senior Secondary College in which you get to hear directly from past participants on the value of the program.
