Nearing the end of the Rotary year and the local clubs are now well into the Changeover season.  Wearing my other hat as Rotary Community Leader I've been enjoying the club changeovers, promoting the need for ongoing work to be done in the Regionalisation Pilot program and also taking the opportunity on a club level to create even stronger connections with our clubs in the area.  A pie and port night in Rochester on Saturday was wonderful, a very cold night but we were warmed by the great company and the lovely wood fire.  On Sunday we enjoyed the hospitality of the Bendigo Rotary Club, some exciting times ahead now that they are gearing up to celebrate their 100th birthday.  Wednesday night we were at the Bendigo South Club's changeover, another great evening of celebrating achievements and looking ahead to some very exciting plans for the future of rotary in the area.  Congratulations from our club to new Presidents Eric Bish, Noel Hobley and Lindsay Jolley.

Eaglehawk Festivals held their public forum at our clubrooms last week - an opportunity for their committee members to hear and take on board the views of the community members who attended.  Interesting times ahead for the Dahlia & Arts as they navigate through this period of transition and adjustment.

Our club have been offered the option of Friday Bunnings BBQ's - an idea that needed to be considered by the members, and by the looks of it, this may be a good option for our club to support these additional days of fundraising.

A reminder that there is no meeting next Wednesday 25th June but instead our meeting next week is the club changeover on Friday 27th June.  See you then!

Prep Packs Distribution
The program made possible by the support of a District Grant from the Rotary Foundation.  The delivery to Eaglehawk North Primary School last week went very well.  We are still trying to determine who was more excited, the office staff, the teachers or the students.  The preppies were keen to get stuck into the packs and were soon using them.  When we left, the students were having fun and we were feeling very pleased with our club project.

Birthday Cake!!
What a great idea - a birthday cake made its way to the club meeting this week
- and as the numbers were low, those present would have been able to eat twice as much......... Happy Birthday Carmel

100 Years of Rotary in Bendigo
Saturday 23rd August will be witness to a major Rotary event in Bendigo.  The Rotary Club of Bendigo celebrate 100 years since they were chartered and the celebrations on this day will be in the form of a Gala Dinner.  Our club are proud of our connection with the Bendigo Rotary club, not only is this a celebration for the Bendigo Club but it is in fact a celebration for all rotary clubs in the Bendigo as this is a significant milestone for us as well.  100 years of Rotary in Bendigo - that is quite an achievement and one to be celebrated.

So, let's put a table together of our club members to go along to support the Rotary Club of Bendigo but to also celebrate the fact that Rotary has had a presence in our town for 100 years.

So let Alison know if you are keen to join the club table and we can arrange the details.
