Ken Pollock, Black Jack Winery in Harcourt, came along this week to share with our members his thoughts and experiences from the Harcourt fires from January this year and the impact on the Winery. A fascinating insight into the many aspects of such an event on a community. The samples provided for our members were very well received and we know that there are already some extra customers heading your way.
The Bendigo Inner Wheel club conducted their annual Fashion Parade at the clubrooms last week and by all accounts this was again a very successful fundraising event for them. Great to see our clubrooms being used for such a worthwhile cause.
A huge thank you to all those who had a very early start to their ANZAC day and participated in the cooking of the Gunfire Breakfast at the Fire Station. This annual event is always an honour to be involved with and we delight in sharing the task with the Lions Club of Eaglehawk.
A reminder that the application for our Community Grants close this week. Application forms are available on our club's website and should be lodged before 1st May.
A very happy birthday to Charlie Cunneen - the very friendly long standing member of our club who greets everyone on arrival at our meetings with such a cheery welcome and handshake. Have a great day Charlie.
Co-Presidents Mick and Geoff are currently in NSW - apparently somewhere near Bathurst at the moment. They will be be back on deck next week.
Bon Voyage to President Elect Lindsay, off on an extended trip overseas - we trust you and Margaret have a great time and return raring to go for your year of Presidency.
Our members can be found this Saturday evening at the Great Stupa, undertaking the car parking duties that have become such an important aspect of the events at the Stupa and are also a great way for our club to increase our profile and raise some funds for the work we do in the community.

Ready to hand the reigns back next week.
